When the words ‘R&D tax credits” are mentioned, people often think of white lab coats, test tubes, and rocket ships. Whilst these activities are likely carrying out Research and Development, the scheme is not limited to these. In fact, GovGrant has a wide range of clients varying in industries and sectors. From tomato growers to logistic firms, smart garment makers to gym apps – R&D is found in all sorts of businesses and sectors.
Take our manufacturing client Tomcat Special Needs Innovation, for example. Founded in 1998, the company’s mission is to ensure no learning difficulty or physical limitation is ever a barrier to taking part and enjoying cycling. For two decades Tomcat SNI has continued to innovate and engineer pioneering solutions, resulting in a double Queen’s Award for Innovation.
Help Tomcat name their new trike
In 2019, Tomcat SNI and Cycling Projects, a National Inclusive Charity, teamed up to design an innovative tricycle. Their “Dragon” and “Dragonfly” models were a success, and now they are working on their next innovation; a hand-propelled trike.
With plans to launch in Spring 2022, this new lightweight design will be easily accessible for independent users, including wheelchair users at an affordable price.
But this is where they need your help, the new trike needs a name.
Entering the competition
The winner will receive the very first trike off the production line. If you know somebody who could benefit from a bespoke built, hand-propelled trike, have a think about a winning name and enter the competition. Entries can be made until 28 February 2022 so best of luck to those who enter and to Tomcat SNI and Cycling Projects with their Spring launch. Thank you for your continued hard work and inventions that allow everybody the freedom to explore the world outside.
