Luke Hamm, CEO of GovGrant was on hand to give the 2018 Thames Valley Business Magazine award for best use of technology and innovation to Reading-based Ultima Business Solutions Ltd.
GovGrant, one of the UK’s leading innovation and R&D tax specialists, sponsored the award at the prestigious Thames Valley Business Magazine awards at a gala dinner organised by the Business Magazine.
Luke said: “This is exactly the kind of company the UK needs if it is to win in the global marketplace of the future. I was impressed by how this 30-year-old business has been able maintain its position at the leading edge of innovation.”
He added: “Its focus on robotics (robotics process automation or RPA) for SMEs means smaller companies can now take advantage of robotics to carry out boring but important back office tasks such as dispatch, or documentation, which save time and money, and free up employees to do more interesting roles.”
Luke explained that the judges were impressed that Ultima had introduced RPA in its own business to prove its worth to customers and resulted in a two-fold increase in productivity.
Client experience director Dave Rogers said: “We were thrilled to win the award, and thanks to GovGrant for their generous sponsorship. It is vital that the government champions innovation and R&D through the tax system, and that specialists like GovGrant are on hand to guide busy businesses like ours through the process.”
“The Thames valley is rich in new-generation technology businesses and, thanks to awards such as these from the Thames Valley Business Magazine, which celebrate excellence, the region can continue to lobby successfully for the infrastructure and resources to bring more jobs and opportunities to the area.”
