Technical Consultant

Location: Nationwide, remote

Primary responsibility

The Technical Consultant is a key role for the business, the main focus being working with our clients to interview, question and understand their R&D activity with the view of completing a Technical report for R&D tax purposes. This report details areas of compliance in support of claims for corporation tax relief under the HMRC R&D tax credit Relief scheme and consideration of early-stage intellectual property leading to Patent Box. In some cases the consultant will also be responsible for aspects of the financial report.

You will be supported by a Project Manager with client engagement along with a Quality and Review team. This is a hands on role where the successful candidate wants to be a practitioner and enjoys the ‘doing’.

Responsibilities

An ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills as this is a client-facing role, with the need to build good client relationships via Teams meetings or site visits. You will possess a naturally inquisitive nature and interest in innovation in order to gather all the necessary technical details to assess a claim for eligibility as well as the ability to interpret company financial accounts. You will need to have the gravitas to drive the client conversation and be able to engage positively to gain the required information.
